Terms of service

The agreement between you and DefSafe Inc. when you use the app, the web app or this website.

Agreement

By using DefSafe you agree to these terms, a contract between you and DefSafe Inc., 651 N Broad St Ste 201, Middletown, DE 19709, United States. If you are setting up a team for a company, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

The service

DefSafe provides short interactive lessons on security awareness, with progress tracking and, for teams, a dashboard for the person who runs the team. We may add, change or remove lessons and features to keep the service useful. The foundation path is free; the rest requires a paid plan.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping access to the email address attached to it. Do not share your login. You may delete your account at any time from the app or through our account deletion page.

Subscriptions and payment

Prices are shown before you buy. A subscription renews at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

  • Bought on the web: the sale is made by Paddle, our merchant of record, which charges you, issues the invoice and handles payment under its own terms. Manage or cancel the subscription from the link in your Paddle receipt or from the web app.
  • Bought in the app: the sale is made by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Manage or cancel the subscription in your store account settings.

A team plan is priced per seat and billed yearly. The person who sets it up gets an invite link and a dashboard; seats are taken by whoever joins through the link. Seats can be added at any time and are billed for the remainder of the period.

Refunds are described in our refund policy.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no unauthorised access, scraping, reselling, sharing of accounts beyond your plan, or interfering with other learners. Team members may not use the dashboard to monitor anything other than learning progress. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

Content

Lessons, quizzes, illustrations and everything else in the service belong to DefSafe Inc. or its licensors and are licensed to you for personal learning, or for training the people in your team. You may not copy, redistribute or resell them. Lessons are general security guidance, not advice about your specific situation; decisions about your own systems and data remain yours.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, DefSafe Inc.'s liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep any protection the law of your own country gives you.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect; continued use after that means you accept the new terms.
